To care for newly purchased mums
Immediately water them thoroughly by soaking the entire root ball in a bucket of water for 30-60 minutes.
Then, place the mum in a location with ample direct sunlight (at least six hours daily).
Water when the top inch feels dry.
Always water at the base, directly onto the soil, avoid watering at top of the Mum.
Finally, deadhead (remove) any spent blooms by snipping them off just above a healthy set of leaves to encourage new growth and extend the blooming period.
